This site - obviously I hope - help people, particularly women, see that there’s no conflict between enjoying beating the heck out of someone and loving him. Assuming of course he’s a masochist. BDSM is a “different loving.” But loving nonetheless.
In intimate relationships people develop trust, reciprocal acceptance, making agreements. Kink and fetish make things different but the most basic parts of human nature are still present. Cultivating the romance requires dissipating cultural clutter: gender clichιs, pain and pleasure, freedom and happiness.
The web is loaded with scads of bad advice. Doubtlessly I’ve added to the supply. Too many preach their unfulfilled fantasies as facts of life. That most commonplace myopia: my way is the true way.
The best teachers on the web - at least in terms of male submission and female dominance - are the inadvertent ones. They share their lives with us. Their intent isn’t to instruct. By happy accident we learn.
Examples of relationships that go through the inevitable phases of war, truce, accommodation and bliss are necessary reminders that our own relationships aren’t always going to be perfect. (Yes, some people seem to have it all without fuss or stress. They are irrelevant.)
